We are founder-led and relentless in our pursuit of “medicines for life”. We continue to research and develop treatments for cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases, as well as other orphan diseases. This hybrid role is located in our Silver Spring, MD, office. You will be required to be onsite at least three days a week. * Relocation Assistance may be available How you’ll contribute In this role, you will lead UT's growing treasury operations and liquidity management strategies while maintaining and enhancing our external financial institution relationships. Major Responsibilities and Duties Include: Lead the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the Treasury department in alignment with overarching functional and business objectives Develop and lead processes related to cash and investments, debt and related compliance, and Treasury objectives. Compliance includes adherence to UT’s investment policy and debt covenants Responsible for efficient system(s) of policies and procedures that adequately control Treasury activities, including statement reviews, reconciliations, and daily cash and investment updates Manage UT’s financial institutions who: invest our funds, have custody of our cash and investments, and participate in our banking syndicate for our credit facility. Additionally, oversee bank relationships, including: opening and closing of domestic and international bank accounts (including all compliance, correspondence, bank documents tracking, and user access provisioning); approving disbursements; and coordinating with other UT Finance team members Review and coordinate efforts related to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley regulations to ensure all activities align with relevant requirements and best practices, including review of SOC 1 reports for investment managers and banking partners Develop and monitor short-term and long-term financial forecasts and reporting to ensure sufficient funds are available to cover operational and capital investment needs Review financial statement disclosures related to cash, investments, and debt to ensure accuracy and compliance with disclosure requirements Lead bi-monthly disbursement approval process including, but not limited to, coordinating with other groups for various reports and certifications of work performed, reviewing cash position reports, reviewing SAP payment summary reports, analyzing data, summarizing significant expenditures, and reviewing memorandum Review and approve treasury related activity within SAP, the accounting system of record Act as SME (subject matter expert) for operational Treasury related matters for SAP initiatives, including upgrades, enhancements, and other initiatives Design and implement solutions and recommend plans and technology for optimization purposes Support external auditor requests, including review of relevant service auditor (SOC 1) reports Direct and manage team to include responsibilities for goal setting, performance reviews/management, coaching, mentoring and career development Perform all other duties as assigned For this role you will need Minimum Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance with at least 15 years of experience in the development and implementation of treasury functions with a Bachelor's Degree OR A Master’s Degree with at least 13 years of experience in the development and implementation of treasury functions with At least 6 years of leadership or managerial experience Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting skills (GAAP) Excellent analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills Strong presentation and communication skills and leadership presence to effectively collaborate across functional teams Ability to take ownership of tasks and responsibilities and follow through to successful completion Ability to collaborate with internal and external professionals and teams Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously Expertise in Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Certified Treasury Professional (CTP)-AFP At United Therapeutics, you’ll realize quickly that it is not an ordinary place to work!
